Convenient little cable
I'm fairly pleased with this little retractable cable. Fortunately, I had read the other reviews, so I was not surprised by the short length and it works for me. Some things you should know:* As other reviewers mention, this is not a 6' cable. The technical details have the correct 2.5' length, but the description is incorrect.* The retractor mechanism is a little cheap and I've gotten it tangled a couple of times. That being said, I've always been able to untangle it and it has recovered.* The rubber around the plug ends is a good size for iPods and most stereo inputs, but it is too wide for the audio jack in an iPhone. I took a sharp knife to one end of the cable and shaved down the sides, then it worked fine even for the recessed iPhone jack. This wasn't too hard to do, though that cable end doesn't look too pretty now.In spite of these reservations, the cable works well, the audio quality seems fine, and it is small, convenient, and nicely...

Works great
I don't know why you would buy the alternative. I ripped out my PAC SWI jack because it wouldn't work right. Connected the simple three wires on this unit, turned on the ignition, and the unit programmed itself in about 30 seconds. And it works great! I have all my buttons working on my Chevy truck steering wheel. When I had the PAC SWI Jack installed, it took the installer quite a while to program it, and then I lost two of my steering wheel buttons because he said it just wont work. Now I have everything and it only took me about ten minutes to install the whole thing. And I have never done this before. The website instructions were perfect and easy.

Much better than SWI PAC interface
Initially had the SWI PAC installed. Response delay to button press with SWI PAC was irritating. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. AXXESS ASWC has much faster response. Auto detect function worked as described. Easy install.

Great cable...but not for iPhone.
This interface cable works great with the iPod but not so great with the iPhone...in fact, not at all. When the iPhone is connected, the phone does not charge and you will receive an error on your head unit's display. The phone will then ask if you want to switch to airplane mode then play only the last album in your library with no option to control the music.

seriously a must have
ever since installing this, i've enjoyed driving 10x as much. i honestly can't live without it. i no longer have to take out the navi cd just to listen to music. i used to burn cd's with 18 tracks. now i have 18gb of music to choose from. you can also watch ipod videos with this cable. i can't see myself ever going back to cd's.

It should be noted...
The cable is more or less a must-have. It only works with units that have iPod circuitry built in, and those units are more or less identical to the units below them besides the iPod control. So why get a unit that needs this cable if you're not going to use the iPod functionality? Exactly.Anyway, the cable itself is made of a nice, high quality rubber and connects VERY easily to the corresponding port on the back of your Pioneer head unit.It should be noted, however, that like other Pioneer iPod connectors which allow control through the head unit, the iPod's controls are locked out while it is connected. I was hoping this wasn't the case with this cable and our DEH-P4900IB, but it was... hence only 4 stars.Otherwise, it's great. All song information and control is sent to the head unit as advertised.

You need a Laptop but works really great.
The amazing thing about this OBDII device is the range of vehicles that it works with. I have used it on a '97 Chevy, a '97 Ford and an '07 Chevy and it showed codes and sensor readings. I was able to diagnose and fix a couple problems on the old Chevy and the old Ford and saved a ton of money over having to go to a dealer or a shop. But only drawback is that you need a laptop PC to use in the vehicle and probably an inverter (converts 12v to 120vac) to power the laptop. It is not as easy to use as a self-contained handheld scan tool but a lot cheaper and shows a lot more info on one screen. If you are home mechanic with a laptop, this is an excellent choice but for a shop you would probably want a scan tool.

Skeptical at first but great product for the price
The product works great! I tested it on my 2003 dodge stratus and was able to read the engine fault and reset it immediately. Haven't used the other features yet but I do know that the device is communicating. It takes a little computer knowledge to install the driver for the device (I use windows 7). Just go to device manager found in control panel(this is the instructions for windows)and right click the usb port that has the ! in the triangle. Then click on update driver. Click to browse for the driver and find the location of the disk that is included and select the disk with include sub-folders checked. After installing the driver open one of the provided programs, connect to your vehicle, and you are good to go. Works great and very cheap compared to stand alone devices.
