Incredible book!
This book is a must have for the small-block enthusiast. Even if you don't modify cylinder heads, there is an incredible amount of cylinder head flow data that alone makes the purchase worthwhile.

Product Description
Any professional performance engine builder will likely tell you the most powerful and important components in an engine are cylinder heads. High-Performance Chevy Small-Block Cylinder Heads shows you how to choose the best cylinder heads for your application. It covers both Gen I and Gen II small-block Chevys, occasionally touching on the Gen III and Gen IV engines. The book taps into some of the best small-block Chevy cylinder head resources this country has to offer to distill valuable information on port design and airflow management.
This book is designed exactly like its predecessor, High-Performance Chevy Small-Block Cams & Valvetrains, in that it starts with the basics and works into more in-depth concepts and variables in an attempt to uncover all those subtle nuances that make power in the small-block Chevy. It features airflow basics, extensive flow bench tests (using the SuperFlow 600 bench), information on production and aftermarket heads, rebuilding and assembly instruction, and basic porting techniques. Very good reference for cylinder heads
This is not the equivalent of a David Vizard book on content, but it is still a very good quality reference for cylinder heads that is very up-to-date as of 2010. It provides very useful data on each head and also provides very handy ways to make practical comparisons between the heads. The photos and quality of presentation are excellent. This book would be very useful to someone interested in building a Chevy small-block and has not yet chosen cylinder heads.

Worth the time and money!
I really enjoyed reading this book. It opened up my eyes to how valve trains work, and how you can maximize their productivity. You can read and re-read over again as you work on your cylinder heads to get the most out of them. Keep in mind this information is somewhat dated, but nevertheless very helpful. I hope you enjoy it like I did. Dan
