A great replacement
This part fits into the dash board flush and doesn't look to bad even when compared to the fading dashboard color. I would recommend this replacement part if someone has a vehicle that can use this part and needs an aftermarket radio or you bought a used one and the last owner broke the original dash cover when they tried to cheaply go to a aftermarket radio. The installation of the dash kit should be easy even for a novice but if you're new to aftermarket radio install I would get help from someone that knows just in case you have any issues with the whole process.

I got this to install an after market radio to replace the OEM unit that stopped working in a 04 Suzuki Vitara. The finished install works and doesn't look too bad, there is a small gap between this and the factory trim ring where I anticipate dirt collecting, could put some black weather strip in the gap but it is not that big a deal. This kit is intended to work for several cars and their is no indication as to which part is intended for which car. I wasted a bit of time playing with the ISO style side brackets before I realized they aren't intended for this particular vehicle. It appears the metal DIN cage (included with the radio) is the intended mounting method. There is not enough space between the opening edge and the top of the storage compartment to bend back the DIN tabs (or "wings") to securely hold the bottom of the DIN cage in pace. I had to resort to thick 3-M double sided tape between the cage and the top of the storage compartment. Also, the tabs on a plastic spacer...

Metra 70-1858 Radio Wiring Harness For GM 88-05 Harness
At first I was disappointed with this product. I have a 1994 Chevy Silverado K1500, which comes stock with an AM/FM stereo and cassette player. After removing the cassette player, the plug from the dash did not fit this adapter, nor did it even closely resemble it. After some research I found that you have to remove the CDM box from under the dash (near the steering column). Once this was done the new set of wires sticking out of the dash fit directly into this harness without a problem. Another perk was that the wire colors matched the factory ones for my Sony Xplod CD player.A little splicing and it powered right up. I have no complaints about this harness or its effectiveness.Some of the other reviews marked this harness down because it did not fit the dash wires. This is more than likely because they were trying to install the wrong set of wires from the factory stereo, instead of disconnecting the CDM box from under the dash board, then plugging into the...

I bought this to install a new head unit in my 1998 Saturn SC2. It arrived on time and all the wires came pre-stripped at the end which made it easy to connect to the adapter for the radio. My only issue with this was that the wires did not match up with the harness in my car when I went to plug it in, so I had to take a bunch out of the plug and put them in the right order. It was not a difficult process, and it could be achieved with a little help from a paper clip and an extra set of hands (my dad helped me out), but for some reason I was expecting them to already all be in the right order. However, this was my first time working with car electronics of any kind, so I really didn't know what to expect going in. Having said that, even with that setback it still was not difficult to use and now that everything is straightened out it works great. No major complaints. Just be prepared to adjust some wires. Got this to use in my 1999 chevy X-cab silverado truck and must say it was EASY to instal. Basically just pull out the factory radio and this thing slides right in and fits tight. A must have for a after market head unit. GOOD PRODUCT.

Not deep enough (that's what she said)
At first I was excited when I received this and saw that it was slightly recessed in. I don't like it very much when decks stick out a lot. I was using a standard size Alpine deck in my 01 Yukon XL and the deck would not fit with this kit. If I wasn't using any RCA's it would have fit fine, but I hooked up a full system utilizing 3 sets of RCA's coming out of the back of the deck.However, I bought another Scosche kit from Walmart that stuck out some and it fixed the problem.Overall review is that Scosche makes great kits, just make sure that you order one that is adjusted for the depth you need. I don't know how to tell how deep each kit goes. I looked on both packages that I had and neither really stated that one was for more depth (both by Scosche for GM vehicles).
