The Edelbrock Intake Manifold Gasket is tailored to match up well with intake ports on the Edelbrock Performer and Performer RPM heads and manifolds. Great product, but have a good vacuum ready.
I had to replace a knock sensor and figured I would replace the gaskets while I was at it. For what they do and how hard they are to get to, getting a good quality product just makes sense. Thus I choose this set.However, most other gaskets snap on the bottom of the intake manifold. These do not. They must be placed on the engine head. While the ring around the head was nice and clean, the bolts were covered in dirt and this product requires those bolts to be clean to put the gasket on. Since the cylinders are open at this point, taking a wire brush and risking dirt getting into the pistons is a real danger. The only way is to have a good vacuum and an assistant to make sure the dirt can come off safely to install these gaskets.

Perfect Fit
Perfect fit on my 1999NBS Sierra engine.Yes this kit requires a little more cleaning than the style that attaches to the intake manifold becuase this clips over the head bolts.No leaks at all, and includes new gaskets and seals for the EGR valve as well.

Chevrolet Intake Gasket

I replaced the intake gasket and then received a p1345 crankshaft misalign code. balancer alignment mark (1) must align with the engine front cover tab. I assume if I take out the #1 spark plug and double check TDC there with the crankshaft pulley timing mark, I would find out if the timing chain placement is off. (2) and the crankshaft balancer alignment mark (4) must align with the. The engine front cover has 2 alignment tabs and the crankshaft. aligned with the tabs on the engine front cover and the number 1 piston. Double, triple and quadruple checked position but still got 21 degrees cylinder #1 advance with scan tool (should be 0 degree +-2). Align white paint mark on the bottom stem of the distributor, and the pre-drilled indent hole in the bottom of the gear (3). clockwise until the alignment marks on the crankshaft balancer are. The crankshaft pulley only has one timing mark not two as my shop manual states. balancer has 2 alignment marks (spaced 90 degrees apart) which are used. for positioning number 1 piston at top dead center (TDC).

Depending on the engine upgrades, the kit includes a GT9 ZR1 supercharger camshaft and Lingenfelter CNC porting & polishing of ZL1 LSA cylinder heads for optimal flow, Lingenfelter LS9 solid supercharger isolator coupling, Lingenfelter air intake... But now Lingenfelter is offering another cool package for the ZL1 with three different update levels: 630, 650, and 700 HP. Prices for the upgrade go up to $11,245.
