Perfect Fit
If you need to replace your melted intake plenum, use this one. This Dorman item comes with the required gaskets, and also includes a new pcv valve. The price is MUCH lower than any local auto parts store ($130) for the same item. If you plan on swapping this part yourself I would HIGHLY recommend replacing the following items as well:Lower intake manifold gaskets. The factory LIM gasket is made from plastic, it cracks and allows coolant into the combustion chamber. If enough gets in your engine will hydrolock. Every Series 2 3800 engine I have taken apart had cracks in this gasket.Valve cover gaskets. These gaskets leak, when they leak oil comes in contact with the exhaust manifold. Both gaskets run around $12 and are easy to swap when doing the Intake plenum/LIM gasket.Coolant bypass elbows. These are made of plastic and fall apart when removing the Lower Intake Manifold. They are available in the help section of your local auto parts store for...

Dorman Upper Intake Manifold
Installed the upper intake manifold kit in a 1998 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight which was experiencing coolant loss. The old upper intake manifold (plenum) had started to melt around the original EGR tube, causing a gasket failure and a slow leak of coolant into the engine. The Dorman kit came with all the parts necessary to completely replace the upper intake manifold, including all the gaskets needed and a new reduced diameter EGR tube designed to stop (or at least delay) the melting that caused the problem in the first place. The kit includes torque specs and minimal installation instructions...look around online for more detailed directions if you're not familiar with how it's done. If you're automobile literate it's not that hard of a job. More in depth than some might be willing to undertake, but if you have the confidence and motivation to see the job through to the end, it's manageable as a DIY afternoon project. A must have gasket to protect your GM 3800 Series II Engine
Sturdy construction that GM should have used in the first place. 130k on my car and the orig. and 1st replacement motor were not done right. This time the replacement motor with 60k on it got the factory plastic gaskets replaced by this improved metal set and a new upper intake with the metal sleeve in the egr port. Also dumped the dexcool for green anto-freeze. Looking foward to a long life. Top to learn more

Felpro MS 98014 T Intake Manifold Gasket Did the JOB!
I was loosing fulid out of the radiator classic symptom everyone complains about but the radiator is not leaking. My friend had a 2001 like mine. Same thing. I found milky looking oil in my oil cap. Oil still looks like oil. Lower intake manifold gasket is letting the oil into the The coolant and vise versa, the radiator cap also had a film of darker slimy muddy oil on it. I been driving the car like this for a while. In traffic it will overheat. It blows the water into the engine oil I figured it would damage the engine if I kept driving like that. The water burns off as' steam out the exhaust , not a good thing. So I ordered the Dorman 615-180 Intake Manifold upper kit and the Felpro MS 98014 T Intake Manifold Gasket for the lower. Job was a lot easier then I thought. It took some time I didnt rush. I rented/free a torque wrench from Auto Zone. I have a 2001 Impala 3800 series 2 105K mi. Been lossing coolant for 3 years slowly but got worse. The upper wasnt real bad but the LIM... Top to learn more

What you need.
Had all the required gaskets plus extra gaskets for both old and newer motors. Was a little confused why this had extra pieces until i realized there is a slight difference between older and newer lower intake gaskets. This kit has it all (even RTV sealant). Glad I replaced mine. They were in horrible shape and only had 60,000 miles on the motor. Had blocked intake ports from oil and water mixing. Running great now. Top to learn more

Excellent quality OE replacement part
This upper intake manifold plenum is an exact match for the OE upper intake manifold except for some minor upgrades in design. The throttle body seal, plenum gasket, PCV valve and components and the MAP sensor are all included. The only part not included is the vacuum hose adapter for the brake booster hose. Edelbrock Intake Manifold
No problems at all with the product, however I paid a considerably higher amount for Overnight shipping, on a Thursday afternoon, (before 3:00PM) and the shipper sent it Standard Ground. It showed up the following Monday, at 5:30PM. I could have really used that $40.00, and put it towards something else. I hate getting ripped off. Great manifold at a great price, received as expected.
I bought this to replace a manifold that the thermostat housing bolts had sheared off on and this was a perfect replacement. No problems installing it and all of the necessary installation instructions are provided, including the torque sequence and specifications. The price is very competitive on Amazon.
