Great product, mediocre instructions
Although the vehicle finder only listed compatibility with Chevy Suburbans, these supports fit and work perfectly for my 2001 GMC Yukon XL. In my opinion, the shiny metallic shaft actually looks better than the black OEM shaft. The only tool needed is a standard screwdriver.Instructions could be better. Removal of the old supports and installation of the new ones depends on removal and installation of a pair of metallic retaining clips for each support. The C-shaped clips fit tightly around the cylindrical shaft, and to remove them, they must be pried-off with a screwdriver. Once you've removed the old supports and put on the new ones, new C-clips must be installed. However, these C-clips are tight and stiff, and do not go back on the same way they came off. It took 10-15 minutes of struggling, sweating, swearing and head scratching to figure out that they need to be pressed-on axially at the end of the cylindrical shaft. Strong Arm 4573 - 03 GMC Envoy
As the temperature coooled, the tailgate would only partially open without further help. These units restored the lift to full opening. Also I like the way the tailgate slows as it nears full open.Installation was straight-forward but do suggest having a helper as recommended in the instructions.A word of caution. I measured the length of the OE units prior to ordering and it did not match the unit recommended by Amazon's vehicle selection process. Suggest verifying your specific application.The 4573's are actually for an 04-05. If I'd used the selection process it shows 4574's which are about 3" longer. Fortunately Amazon's description shows length so I was able to compare against other web sources my selection was correct.

easy to build in!!!
happy to find finally the right size struts to my trailblazer. There are two different sizes. Measure before you buy and get somebody to hold the trunk door while you build them in! Very easy to build in. the mechanics asked for two hundred fifty...now i only paid less than a quarter of that and fixed it myself. perfect!

Easy repair with free prime shipping
Best investment to make an old car new again. I ordered new struts for the glass and the whole door. Back to the factory feel where I have to struggle a little to close the door rather than get hit on the head while loading / unloading cargo in my car. Accurate instructions were printed on the inside of the box and the complete repair took less than 10 minutes and a single small bladed screwdriver.
