The hardened chromium plated steel shaft is precision ground and polished for superior corrosion resistance and leak free sealing. The self cleaning piston assembly automatically opens during each compression cycle to keep the orifice clear of fluid contaminants and provide smoother operation and reliable performance. Most units also utilize StrongArm's patented temperature compensation module valve which ensures consistent operation even in extreme weather conditions. It does so by compensating for normal gas pressure changes caused by temperature variations. The metallic upper bushing is manufactured with bearing quality precision to provide exact fit with pistion rod and promote a long operating life. Top to learn more
Great product, mediocre instructions
Although the vehicle finder only listed compatibility with Chevy Suburbans, these supports fit and work perfectly for my 2001 GMC Yukon XL. In my opinion, the shiny metallic shaft actually looks better than the black OEM shaft. The only tool needed is a standard screwdriver.Instructions could be better. Removal of the old supports and installation of the new ones depends on removal and installation of a pair of metallic retaining clips for each support. The C-shaped clips fit tightly around the cylindrical shaft, and to remove them, they must be pried-off with a screwdriver. Once you've removed the old supports and put on the new ones, new C-clips must be installed. However, these C-clips are tight and stiff, and do not go back on the same way they came off. It took 10-15 minutes of struggling, sweating, swearing and head scratching to figure out that they need to be pressed-on axially at the end of the cylindrical shaft. Truly ultra
These struts work great. I did alot of research before purchasing these struts. I am happy that I purchased them. People kept telling me that struts from Napa (store brand) were better. Then the people at Napa told them that the Gabriel Ultras are way better than the Napa store brand. I haven't been disappointed with the ride quality and handling since I installed these struts. Impala w/spoiler Trunk Lift Support did the job
I have a 2001 Impala the old originals broke off at the top. I replaced them both. They still worked but fall off got tired of that. These new ones are a little tight going up and down you have push a little harder now to close the lid. It was an easy installation. Maybe they just have to loosen up a bit. I would buy the StrongArm 4120 Chevrolet Impala w/spoiler Trunk Lift Support 2000-05, again. Go for it you wont be sorry ~Lou Top to learn more
