Excellent Replacement Product
I own a 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup. A couple of years ago, the tailgate handle linkage had broken. In order to open my tailgate, I had to remove the bezel and reinsert the rod by hand each time I wanted to open the tailgate. I ended up losing the bezel, which was bound to happen; I am absent-minded. I later ended up damaging the handle in a trailer mishap.Over the past two years, I noticed through personal observation that at least 75% of Chevy trucks around the same age as mine were missing the bezel, an indication that the tailgate handle linkage was a widespread problem (cheap plastic part).I ordered handle/bezel combination through Direct Auto on Amazon.com and was very pleased that the quality of the replacement parts were similar to the original parts. The bezel came with the foam pieces attached to help with fit and the handle came with the plastic pieces for the linkage (although still cheap plastic and a design flaw on the part of Chevy). It...

As good as the original
This fit perfectly, was easy to install, and appears to be as good as the factory original. (also has the little plastic clips that hold the connecting rods in place in case you are wondering).The only downside is that just like the factory original there is a plastic component to the mechanism that under heavy use will likely break just like my original one did. But as a replacement handle this item get's 5 stars.I also love that the bezel comes with it as the retaining clips on mine had cracked which I didn't notice until I was putting the new one in place.

Perfect!
This is exactly what I wanted. I bought a similar part through a website I no longer use and it had 2 sided tape that did not stick. This is built like the factory part and snaps into place without glue or tape and cost a lot less too!

Tailgate Bezel
This bezel fit perfectly on our 2000 Chevy Silverado. We have seen a number of Chevy pickups missing this bezel on their tailgate. When I asked the parts dept at our local dealership, I was shocked at the price.The one we purchased from Amazon cost more in shipping than the item itself. If fits perfectly and we are pleased.I only regret not buying a second one in case this one is stolen as well.

Good product
I ordered this after my tailgate handle broke. Researching prices at the car part stores, this was a great buy. It was half the price of what the stores were charging, and it was the same product. I liked how they included the car part number so I could make sure it was the correct product, as I am just an amateur at fixing car stuff. Part came in a timely manner, with no problems, and it was easy to install. Overall, I am satisfied with this product.

Easy Install and fits perfect
My tailgate would not latch - I kept spraying lube on the ends and strikers to no avail - then I was able to finally get some up into the handle area and it worked for a little while. I finally replaced the handle/latch and now I no longer have to slam my tailgate - I only have to colse it and it latches, just like it should. You will most likely want to buy the plastic bezel also, since it is probably quite brittle and will most likely break when you take it off (necessary to replacing the handle/latch) I found mine had already been broken and was being held on with thick double sided foam tape. Fits perfect, easy to install and includes the plastic clips for the ends of the latch rods to go into. This will most likely solve your tailgate problems.

Works but feels fragile, Not as strong as OEM
I bought this to replace my original handle on my 03 Silverado. The original one was starting to jam up - the mechanism was a little sticky so the tailgate wouldn't always latch the first time or without slamming it. I figured I'd rather just buy a new one instead of fixing the old. I was wrong. I put the Dorman one on and noticed right away that the handle was a lot more flexible - felt like it would break if you pulled on it too hard. The metal is a lot thinner and the clips that come with it are pretty fragile looking. I ended up just taking my old OEM one apart and tuning it up a bit, put it back on the truck and am much happier. You get what you pay for.
