Rare to find item
These valve covers were ordered for my sister who has a 85 Corvette, with the Targa top, after searching everywhere, even the dealerships in the area, they could not be found. I suggested I look on Amazon to see if they had them, They did and cheaper than any other place. This product is definitely a low end one. The chrome is not complete in some of the crevices. It installed fairly well. In short it is an OK product but just that... just OK. It is a decent product for the price i guess but if you have a show car i would not buy this product. It is good for a daily driver. Top to learn more

Great value, but fill screw goes all the way through! Oops!
This was a slammin' good deal. This is a genuine Spectre part that came in the full retail sealed box. It bolted up perfectly to my Dana 44, and included the gasket as seen in the photo. Two important things to know: #1 The fill screw does not have a "stop" ring on it, so attempting to tighten it all the way causes the fill screw to fall into the diff chamber leaving no other choice but do remove the cover, drain the oil, retrieve the screw and start the whole job over again. Doh! Yeah, that happened. Major bummer. And, the original fill screw was a different thread pattern so I couldn't re-use the original. #2 A relatively minor problem, but the bolts were too long in a couple of the holes so I had to put extra washers in place. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning so you should probably have washers standing by in case you need them. The bolt holes line up so of course you could re-use your original bolts to avoid the problem, but then you'd have a nice shiny diff cover... Top to learn more

Good cover.thinner then OEM. Looks good. Bolts supplied are not compatible for install. They are Too long. But for the price, it's an excellent cover. A little concerned on the chrome rusting in a year or so but you pay for what you get. Top to learn more

A friend had the opposite, a silver blue 64 4-door top of the line model with the 283, Powerglide, PS, PB, and wire wheel covers. And was this 155 hp 230 six really any different internally, or did the chrome add the additional 15 hp. And by 1965, the 230 six was back to 140 hp and no chrome accents. My grandmother bought one of the very first to hit the dealership, Hefner Chevrolet in Fort Wayne, trading in a 60 Kingswood wagon+$400 for a new turquoise blue 62 Chevy II 100 2-door sedan with no options. While the “good car” was a 66 Bonneville, the car that my friend’s mom drove was a maroon 63 Chevy II with a 3 on the tree. My junior high English teacher had a 64 white Chevy II Nova coupe with the 283, three speed, another good one. I also remember riding in an early Chevy II. Back when it was a big deal to get a “second car”, some neighbors had one. But by 1964, the 283 V8 was also available in 195 hp 2 barrel and 220 hp 4 barrel versions. I remember Hefner Chevrolet. I think you don’t see many of these because when they were fairly new cars they were disposable until the 66 model. My grandmother’s car stayed nice for a long time because it was garaged and we washed it frequently but the bodies of most early IIs were rusted out in a few years, with the mechanicals still going strong. Peppy car, traded for a new 67 Impala SS coupe with the 327. I remember thinking that the car felt smaller and less substantial than the 60 Lark VIII with the automatic that another mom drove.
