Very surprised how well this extremely abused toy has lasted
We bought this horse last Christmas for our youngest grandson who was then 3. We put it together and didn't think it would last very long....were we WRONG?? The horse is a very much loved toy and as he has a brother 2 years older and a sister 3 years older it is in CONSTANT use daily!!! Both the boys are autistic and the abuse this horse has taken is nothing short of a miracle!!! He still talks etc. and he is jumped on and used as a spring board to fly over his head onto the couch or any other soft landing place they can find. I have even seen him standing on his head!! I wish every toy we bought held up HALF as well. It was worth many times what we paid for it.

Love the horse!
I purchased this horse for my daughter's 3rd birthday, and she loves it. My older daughter is almost 5, and she loves it as well. After reading other reviews, I'm guessing that the model has changed slightly, since the batteries are now easily located in a hidden pocket right along the horse's mane. We haven't had problems with the buttons in the ears making sounds, although I find that my girls don't care much about the sounds anyway. We've had this horse for about a month.The one thing I wanted to mention was a problem with the assembly instructions. When putting the horse together, be sure to place the red tube spring covers onto the bars before attaching the horse! The instructions don't tell us to put the covers on until AFTER the horse is attached, and then it is too late and everything has to be disassembled, which is a lot of effort. A great compromise
WE purchased this for our 3 1/2 year old daughter. She was torn between the Radio Flyer Spring Horse and the Furreal Butterscotch pony. This horse is a great combination of the best parts of each. It is soft and brushable, but she can still climb on and bounce. It sings and moves its mouth, so she can "feed" it all sorts of things. I was originally worried about durability and was quite happy to see that it easily supports my nine-year old as well. The two have even climbed on together without any worry.Although I had been a strong Radio-Flyer customer, with their increase in production in China, I think that Tek Nek has produced a better product and am happy to have purchased it.

My Grandson loves it!
I purchased this product for my grandson's 3rd Birthday because his Mother had a similar one when she was about that age and she loved it. I was impressed with the plush body and the sturdy frame. The singing and talking voices were also lots of fun. But the greatest thing about this toy was the way my grandson's face lit up whenever I brought it into the room! He was so very excited, climbed right up onto the horse and didn't get off for over an hour! We actually had to wait to cut his birthday cake until we could convince him that "Lucky" was his forever and was not going anywhere - THEN he finally got off! It is now his very favorite toy. I would highly recommend this product just for the sheer joy of playing with a toy that any child would love.

Great toy!
My little girl loves it, but they offer a version that runs about $[...] cheaper that doesn't come with the saddle. Get that one! The saddle never stays on anyway! It is just fabric held on with one little piece of velcro and it always slides around. I do love the toy. The songs and phrases make it fun for my daughter and her friends. They love to watch the mouth move (the songs WILL get stuck in your head, though:)

Adorable and sturdy
First off, if you can get a second set of hands to help you assemble this then save your sanity and get their help. It is super easy and quick to set up (few peices) but attaching the pony to the base requires more than two hands because you are working against the rubber bands that the pony uses to bounce. I managed to do it alone but it was after many bangs, bruises, and swear words. I read reviews on a similar bouncing/rocking horse (Radio Flyer) and this product seems to be not only easier to assemble, but of better quality.The moving pony mouth is barely noticable but the sounds and songs are very clear. The voice that does the phrases and song is weird. I won't say more - you listen and come up with your own judgment. It makes my baby smile though. My son is only eight months so he isn't technically old enough for it yet. He is somewhat big for his age and loves to bounce and jump so he's already moving on the pony. I just stay nearby in case he needs help balancing...

Pony and Tek Nek Company Rock!
I just wanted to share my experience with this pony and with Tek Nek. We've had this pony for almost a year, we purchased as a Christmas present last year for our then 15 month old son. Our son loves this pony, and is one of only a few toys that he has never lost interest in. Like another reviewer, I too had concerns with the durability of the pony's ears, since that's how my son activated the talking and singing, by yanking HARD on both the pony's ears. I can report, that almost a year later, though the ears are a little mishappen and no longer stand up, there is not one rip or popped seam! That being said, we did end up having an issue with part of the frame on the base of the pony. Approximately 4-5 months after we converted the frame to the "big boy" setting, I noticed that the knobs on the inner frame pieces where the rubber bands attach started to pull inward from the force of the bands. Good Toy but BAD design
We purchased this toy about 3 months ago. It went together easy enough with 2 people. The toy seems fairly well built. My son loves it. There is only one problem. The buttons to make it sing and talk are in the ears. My son (currently 16 months old) has learned that if he grabs the ears and pulls them it will make noise. He loves it. There are two major problems with this design, however.The first is that he is quite strong and I do not think it will be long before he rips the ears off.Second and worse, this toy taught him that grabbing the ears and yanking them is a good thing which will cause the toy to make noise. Due to this toy my son also learned that my 2 dogs work the same way. My dogs don't even want to be in the same room as my son anymore and whenever they are together we have to keep getting onto my son to keep him from yanking the dogs ears.This could have been easily avoided by putting buttons on the neck or head instead of...

Very Sturdy and Fun Rocking Horse
My 28month old granddaughter just loves it. It is very sturdy and easy to use. Took a little bit of time to put together but was pretty easy to follow the instructions. Definately need 2 people though to hold things/springs while putting together. Would recommend to anyone looking for one. I got a great deal at Amazon.com compared to my local stores.

The springs were too tight and the horse does not bounce at all. The first week my daughter used it the control in the ear that makes the noise stopped working. I bought this because it was pretty but I wish I would have bought the radio flyer brown one that I know works better. This is too much trouble to take apart and mail back or I would.

Great spring horse!
We bought this for our 2 year old granddaughter. She was a bit hesitant at first, but quickly learned to rock, bounce, etc. This spring horse is cute for little girls. Pressing one ear on the horse plays a song, and pressing the other ear plays various horse noises ...whinnies, trot/gallop, etc. There's easy access to the battery. This horse is sturdy and all springs are covered for safety. The assembly really does go much faster with 2 people because of the springs. Bottom line is that our granddaughter quickly fell in love with her new horse ...her continuing smiles are worth the cost!

Best Spring Horse You can buy!
I purchased this item for my 2-1/2 year old daughter who loves horses. She was ecstatic when she saw it. I thought about purchasing a Radio Flyer Spring horse for her but after looking at them. I took a gamble that I would like this one being covered in cloth vs the plastic and it paid off 100 fold. The horse comes in a box just big enough to pack all the items. I would say its as frustration free as could be. The box also had an exterior cardboard sleeve protecting it from damage in shipping. I received the item in two days with free shipping. Props to Fed-EX and Amazon for this. I had it put together in less than 20 minutes by myself. Instructions are clear and easy to follow and it really dosen't require much assembly. I Was really amazed at how well everything about this item is thought out. From the way it was packaged to the very small amount of assembly for the end user. The instructions say it will even hold 115 pounds which should be well over the age range of a toy...

Legend the spring horse by Tek Nek
My Grandson loved this horse. I also purchased the Lucky horse. I noticed that many of the reviewers who did not have a 5 star review of Lucky did not understand where the battery pack is located. I wrote another review on the Lucky Horse saying it is underneath but I failed to tell you underneath what. I appologize for this oversight. The battery pack is located underneath the mane on the horses neck. If you use 3 batteries you will not get the full affect of the horse so 4 AA batteries are required. If your horse doesn't make a sound upon arrival you must install the batteries. Neither of our horses came with the batteries even though it said the batteries were included. In putting the horse together, you must carefully follow the instructions. I hope this helped to clarify where the batteries are located in the horse.Also if you dont want the horse making a sound everytime it is bumped, you can put it on the middle switch setting and it will only make the noises if the ears are...

Legend is a big hit at Mamaw's and Papaw's house!
We thought that our first grandson might be a little young (16 months)for a hobby horse but since our boys both started bustin' broncs at an early age we thought we'd find out. What a wonderful idea it has turned out to be. We couldn't wait for Christmas so he was riding in early December. I thought I'd wait to see how Legend held up for a few weeks before writing a review. Everything worked perfect from the day we received him. Assembly was a breeze (it took me less than half an hour). We installed the batteries and Legend awoke. Our baby knows which ear to press to get the sound he wants and he just loves the moving ears and tail. The curry comb is just a perfect little attachment to allow the child to bond with his horse. We are very impressed with the quality and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone that would love to watch their child's eyes sparkle when they climb into the saddle and start riding.Update, December 30th, 2008.
